Relative Confessions Part 5

Mom role turned out fine

Beginning,

when you came to me as mine

That is not how it always felt

Until, burritto wrap you

made my innards, crumble

into cheese, drip a melt

I obsessed, please God

Make him

be born blessed

Innocent toes five

Octave cries high

Music, prayers, chatter

to the womb,intended

for you in bloom

Then

Intimidation,a need to weep

Set in,you shrugged all sleep

Hysteria,of a parallel world

like a merry go round

visitations,wine,gripe water

together swirled

Soon

You grew up

paced faster than I knew

new sights,friends

with much elan,drew

Kite like,new expanses

explored, your equilibrium

with the world, worked

to choreograph,your dances

Success is perspective,yours

and mine,will differ

I proudly,stand a tall tower

You demonstrate,a barometer

for moments that matter

will last forever

Your camera lens, prescribes

focus, and will always

define you,your path lines

Your calm affinity

with those who matter

allows you,to distill

the clutter

Refined

I made it thus far, fairly fine

son, you polish my shine

My cue cards,help books

pile up in a nook

Excruciating discipline,will take

to not outreach,at each step

You coach me,with your manner

and comforting energy

I grow with you

worry,by nature

confident,by stature

watching,as you

forge ahead

onward and forward
