The Armory Tour Part 1

NaPoWriMo Day 2

Almond biscotti sticks, crumbling coarse sign posts

Flour thick layer, an after-bombing residue

Tablespoon of essential oil, penetration of evil pride

Electric mixer speed, grinding reminder of Auschwitz

Raisins a handful, moist eyes and disconsolate tears

Toasted walnut flakes, shards of shrapnel embedded

Apple cider and almond extract, embalmed bodies to be identified

Sugar caramelized to layer the pan, festering a new normal

Transferred to a wire rack, the simmering mistakes of humanity

Enjoy once drizzled with cinnamon, the AfterTaste of our masked cowardice

I am a management professional by job classification and a work practitioner by personal preference. One poetry collection - Shelling Peanuts and Stringing Words and a chapbook, Crushed Anthills. Always gathering poems, and letting them marinate and change shape and form.
