Window Dressing

IMG_3166

NaPoWriMo 2017

You peeped in, yet again knocking, enticingly

Yesterday you were dressed blue, stars swaying across in a spray

What was it you wanted to say, whispering?

Yesterday, when you tugged that branch away

What were you up to, lingering behind like that

Yesterday, your luminosity was gentle, yet you seemed astray

Why did you smirk at the street lamp in guilt?

Yesterday, my rooftop witnessed your celestial cabaret

When did you learn such unassuming grace?

Yesterday, you peaked through your veil as the fireflies came to play

How did you stand still with a poker face?

Yesterday, when the little boy begged for the rabbit sticker you have on your face

Where else do you dare tiptoe barefoot these days?

Yesterday, you cheekily trespassed over my pathway
