Acquired Taste

IMG_3246brewed for years

within my taste cortex

the lingering flavor

of conversation in motion

simmering pot gurgles

ideas in each leaf

delectable biscotti dip

crumbs forming journey maps

whistling kettle calls to action

healing pot is shared

lingering napkin stains

mock at the sipping sounds

singeing at puckering lips

rain drizzles like honey drops

the anthem of tea

steams gentle furrows

transporting across borders

lemon ginger healing

infusing each cup

with

cinnamon saltiness of tears

english breakfast crisp of words

savored in spiced friendship

memory bags dipped

in sense and sensory

palpable notes

for a lifetime

preserved

I am a management professional by job classification and a work practitioner by personal preference. One poetry collection - Shelling Peanuts and Stringing Words and a chapbook, Crushed Anthills. Always gathering poems, and letting them marinate and change shape and form.

  1. The mild aroma, the lethargic sipping, light vapours steaming out of a hot cup of tea.
evaporates all the worries of hard day work ahead
Thoroughly enjoyable poem -particularly over a hot cup of morning tea.
