To the wine and whiskey of my life

I stand looking upon a threshold and as the clock ticks to countdown, I want to say what I don’t say as often and will never present as well as you both do –

For my life and changing patterns, Mansi

You are you and you make me brilliant

indulging me with your ebullience

You brought to me courage in wishbones

Finding your home in heart and spaces unknown

unobtrusive yet ever present like a signature cologne

The photo clipped at the center of my gallery

You erupt in rich shades and deep hues like cranberries

We will step into doors and walk into places

You bring surety to me and shine a grandeur on the basics

For my blood and racing passion, Sanah

You are my voice no matter how much I may fall short

Will be my watchdog near, far and across the realms

You have(you said!!) my back when I ever cross a chasm

Our squabbles measure comfort

And your care is always triumphant

A storm is quick to tide over

Fiery warmth you bring helps glide over

Distance falls short they say when measured in blood

Differences mean no more when expressed in loving strokes

You are my wine and my whiskey

You are for me the beauty of commencement and the charm of continuity

I am a management professional by job classification and a work practitioner by personal preference. One poetry collection - Shelling Peanuts and Stringing Words and a chapbook, Crushed Anthills. Always gathering poems, and letting them marinate and change shape and form.
